Paddle Saddle
by EbbTide

I recently purchased a new Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140. After my first initial paddle of this the new kayak, I decided that with the design of the molded seat and backrest on the 140, it really didn't warrant the purchase of an expensive strapping system seat.  All I really needed was a seat pad.  I began looking through the all the internet sites for a pad that would work for my application.  I found the Paddle Saddle with high backrest that fit my exact needs. It was gel, light weight, very reasonably priced for under 60 bucks and the folks had great customer service. The gel pad is made by www.yakpads.com. Yakpads is a company that specializes in gel-filled comfort products and accessories. The gel used in Yakpads products is only 3/8" thick so they won't raise your center of gravity. The gel remains soft and pliable even when frozen. Yakpads products float, absorb little water, dry quickly and insulate extremely well. Later this year yakpads will be offering a fishing seat version to go along with the other fantastic gel seat line-up.
